Two’s and You

Monday or Wednesday – 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.

The Two’s and You program is a class designed especially for those families interested in parent-child participation in a beginning preschool experience for two year olds. The program will introduce and encourage both toddlers and parents to discover the world around them, together, through art, music, science, movement and more.

The Two’s and You program is a fourteen week session held in the fall and winter. Students must be two years old by the time they start school. If your child turns two mid-session, you may start at that time. Your tuition will be prorated to reflect the number of classes you will attend. Classes are held one day per week in the first classroom on the lower level of St. John’s Episcopal Church from 9:30-11 a.m. Class size limit is twelve students.

Requirements for the Two’s and You Program:
1. Each student must have a parent or caregiver attend each session with them.
2. Each family is required to bring snacks for the class at least one time during the 14 weeks.
3. Parents or caregivers will be expected to take turns setting up and cleaning up class areas as noted in the class schedule.
4. Parents or caregivers must attend the parent orientation prior to class participation.
5. As a member of our co-op preschool, each “Two’s And You” family will be required to fulfill a 1 point job as outlined on the Job Preference Sheet attached to the Application Form.

The daily schedule may change as the program and class demands, but will generally follow as below:

9:20-9:30 a.m. Set Up: The parent helper and teacher work together to prepare for the day’s activities.

9:30 a.m. Preschool Begins: Please hang coats on hooks and pin a nametag on your child.

9:30-10:30 a.m. Developmental Play: During this time, the children and parents are free to choose their own activities. There are puzzles, games, art projects, easel painting, play dough, workbench, blocks, climber/slide, a play kitchen, dolls, dress up, and many more activities to choose from.

10:30-10:40 a.m. Clean Up, Group Time: After all the toys have been put away, the children, parents and teacher gather together to read a book, listen to music/dance, or sing.

10:40-10:50 a.m. Hand Washing: Before snack time, the children will wash their hands as the parent helper sets up snack.

10:50-11 a.m. Snack and Dismissal: Small, nutritious snacks are provided on a rotating basis by all “Two’s And You” preschool families. The children sit at tables with their peers and enjoy eating and talking together. Parents may use this time to speak to the teacher. The children and parents leave after snack and after their child’s nametag has been returned. The parent helper assists the teacher with the final clean up.

Due to popularity, we’ve added an additional class for Winter 2013.  There are still openings.
